Tara McGarvey
Office Manager

Tara joined the practice in 2021 after graduating from the Centre for Distance Education’s Medical Office Assistant Program with Presidents List Honours. Tara was thrilled to step into the role of Office Manager in the fall of 2024. She has had the pleasure of getting to know so many of our clients and their beloved pets over the years and she cannot wait to bring that same dedication to this new position.

With her background in customer service and a lifelong passion for animals, she enjoys working with clients and her colleagues to give the best possible experience for patients and their families.

When not at work, Tara enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, along with pets Gus, a golden retriever, and Merlin, a tabby cat. She loves working in the garden and baking whenever she can.

Betty Boop
Assistant Manager, Quality Control and Security

Betty joined the practice in June 2019 after hearing of a vacancy for the live-in role. She enjoys spending her days assisting the manager with paperwork, ensuring quality pet care by sampling the staff’s scratches and snuggles,  and quality control of the staff lunches/pet foods.

She is sure to be found joining us at our morning and afternoon rounds daily to keep apprised of the day’s tasks. She can also be found enjoying any sunny spots throughout the clinic or trying to comfort the patients in the hospital.

Krista LaRochelle
Registered Veterinary Technician

Krista joined the practice in 2016 after graduating from the Veterinary Technician program at Georgian College.
In 2023, she proudly earned her Low Stress Handling Certification and loves using it to help make vet visits a little easier for her patients. She also enjoys supporting her teammates and watching everyone grow together.
Outside the clinic, Krista stays busy with paintballing adventures with her husband, kayaking, and soaking up cottage time.
At home, she’s kept on her toes by her cat Maisie and happily claims her parents’ dogs, Darcy and Whisky, as part of her furry crew. Krista’s heart horse, Ange, will always hold a special place in her life—she was the reason Krista chose a career in veterinary medicine, and the picture on her bio is a tribute to their incredible bond.

Taylor Farrell

Taylor joined our practice after she graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Northern College in 2024.

Her love towards and helping animals started at a very young age and as she grew up, Taylor knew she wanted to work in veterinary medicine. She loves to learn and educate herself throughout her new veterinary technician journey and helping all she can.

Behind the scenes, Taylor loves to spend time with her Lab Rottweiler mix pup named Todd and her old gal Rosie, an Australian Shepherd mix. Taylor also enjoys camping, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Jaiden Weiler

Jaiden joined the practice in June 2025 after completing her co-op placement with us.

She recently graduated from Georgian College and has had a passion for veterinary medicine for as long as she can remember. She began volunteering in clinics at just 12 years old and started working as an Animal Care Assistant at 16.

When she’s not caring for pets at the clinic, Jaiden is busy with her own furry family: two Boston Terriers (Hope and Sadie), two cats (Mocha and Gus), and a hamster named Basil. Outside the clinic, Jaiden enjoys boating, golfing, fishing, and traveling, and has been riding horses for over 10 years.

Angie Payne
Client Services Representative

From a young age Angie has always had a deep love for animals, and her home has never been without a furry family member.

A music enthusiast at heart, she graduated from Humber’s radio broadcasting program and worked in the industry for a few years before taking time off to raise her two children.

In 2022, Angie ventured into the veterinary world and started working at an emergency animal hospital where she was instantly hooked. She strives to ensure every visit is a positive experience for both the client snd patient.

Angie shares her home with her husband, two daughters, and two giant fluff balls. Piper, a Bernese Mountain Dog, and Maverick, a Newfoundland. When she’s not in the clinic, Angie enjoys attending concerts, being out on the water, and making memories with her family.

Sam Shellswell
Client Services Representative

Sam joined the practice in March 2025, bringing a passion for pets and a background of experience in customer service at a local pet store.
When not at the clinic, Sam enjoys spending time with her two beloved cats, Hemi and Howard. Or heading out to her favorite place to be-on the water, fishing and soaking up the peaceful outdoors. Sam also has a creative side and loves photography, especially capturing the personalities of pets through the lens.
