Dr. Kathy Marchildon
DVM, Practice Owner

Dr. Kathy completed her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1995, and went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 from the University of Guelph, Ontario Veterinary College. Born and raised in Orillia, Kathy decided to open her own practice in 2006. As a veterinarian, Kathy enjoys working with each pet owner to strengthen the human-animal bond. Focusing on preventative healthcare, Kathy has a strong interest in veterinary nutrition, and finds gratification within her work knowing that she has been a part of such a special bond between a pet and their owner.

An integral and very important part of veterinary medicine is continuing education. Dr. Kathy enjoys attending many lectures and conferences, which are provided by the OVMA and GBVA. Kathy and her husband have two children and keep busy with many extracurricular activities including dance, music and hockey. In her spare time, she enjoys camping with her family and reading. Her furry family includes Gary, a Potcake rescue dog, Lenny, an adorable Shih Poo, Gretchen a shorthaired deaf cat and Purryface a spunky shorthaired cat. To round out the Marchildon Zoo there is also an adorable dwarf hamster, a guinea pig and 2 fish Sullivan & Swim Shady!

Dr. Hilary Rodd

Associate DVM

“I had dreamed of becoming a veterinarian since I was 8 years old. I had such a keen interest in animal anatomy and I loved animals of all shapes and sizes. My childhood family veterinarian became my hero after she saved our Labrador, Molly, during an emergency C-section. It was because of this event that I wanted to be the person who went above and beyond for animals and care for my clients’ pets as if they were my own.
I have two wonderful, active, water-loving, Labrador Retrievers, Georgie and Indy. I also live with a rambunctious, goofy, adopted Rottweiler, Leonard. My husband, Kyle, is encouraging and supportive of my career and such an amazing partner in life. We have a smiley, happy, and active son, Ainslie, who likes to keep all of us on our toes.”

— Dr. Hilary Rodd

Dr. Hilary graduated in 2010 with her degree in veterinary medicine from Murdoch University in Perth, Australia. Although most of her childhood was spent in Newmarket, in the summer months she resided at her cottage on Gloucester Pool near Coldwater. Dr. Hilary met Dr. Kathy at a local Orillia practice during her volunteer hours when she was completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph. Upon graduating from Murdoch University, Dr. Hilary moved back to Ontario where she practiced mixed animal medicine in Midland, and then worked at a small animal practice in Orillia. She joined our practice at Lake Country Animal Hospital in June of 2021 and is very excited for her new adventure. She has a special interest in surgery and internal medicine.

Dr. Kylie McCall

Locum DVM

Dr. Kylie grew up in Barrie, Ontario and was 6 years old when she decided she wanted to become a veterinarian.  She completed her Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph prior to attending the Ontario Veterinary College for their DVM program.

Dr. Kylie started working with us in the fall of 2019 and brought with her a great sense of humour and love for all animals.

Dr. Kylie enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine but her passions lie in preventative care, community outreach and dentistry!  She’s loves working with clients to help provide the best care possible for their furry family members.  Dr. Kylie has moved back to Barrie and now lives there with her sweet pup Moon, a rescue from Manitoba.
